Vocanogenic Bedded Barytes

It's one of the largest Barytes deposit in the world. Bedded Barytes of Mangampet account for 98% of known Indian reserves and 25% of world reserves. It has been declared as National Geological monument by GSI for its protection, maintenance, promotion and enhancement of Geotourism. The site has tremendous opportunity for Geotourism in view of the largest Bedded Barytes deposit and phenomenon Cuddapah Supergroup of rocks in the area. It is approachable from State Highway SH-31 Connecting Tirupati - Cuddapah . Tirupati is 69 km from this area. Coordinates are 14.03755 latitude N and 79.2588901 longitude east.
