Posidonia seagrass is very important for a healthy sea, it is the nursery where fish grow up and it captures carbon (CO2). The sea around Ithaca can be healthy in the future, if Posidonia seagrass is healthy. You can help achieve this goal by collecting data about Posidonia while you are on the sea in a boat. When you look into the water underneath you, what do you see? Is there Posidonia? In some areas around Ithaca the ground is covered in Posidonia seagrass, in others there is some, and again in other places there is no seagrass at all. What is does the ground look like where you are? You can even upload a picture with your answer. The University of Zurich and the divers from Healthy Seas would love to work together with you to ensure that Ithaca's coast is a place full of fish and seagrass in the future.
