Nighttime illumination Mapping

This project assesses nighttime lighting quality across the campus to understand how illumination influences comfort and safety after dark. Data are collected on lighting levels, streetlight conditions, and general environmental characteristics. Safety perception at each point is evaluated based on the combined effect of lighting quality and the surrounding environment, reflecting how safe or comfortable the location feels at night. The safety rating is based on the observer’s personal judgment. The goal is to map these conditions and identify areas where improved lighting could enhance nighttime safety.
