Transects were carried out to compare the ecological impacts including levels of vegetation and soil quality of a range of management approaches involving cold burning of bushland carried out by the Beninj indigenous people of Kakadu. Areas left unburnt were compared to areas burnt within 5 years and 3 years, along with an area that had experienced an uncontrolled bush fire.
