The Tree Census project aims to systematically document and monitor all tree species along he sites of tree plantation in various location across Pune district premises. This initiative involves the geotagging of each tree using GPS-enabled tools and recording critical attributes such as species name, height, girth, health condition. By creating a spatial database of the campus’s green cover, the project supports biodiversity conservation, sustainable landscape management, and informed decision-making for future planning.

The collected data will serve as a vital baseline for:

Monitoring tree growth and health over time
Assessing carbon sequestration potential
Planning afforestation or transplantation drives
Enhancing awareness of urban biodiversity among stakeholders
This eco-inventory is a step towards promoting environmental stewardship and aligns with broader sustainability goals of the institution.
