The following survey was created on behalf of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) for the purpose of compiling and scoring Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems and corridors. These scores are used for the BRT Standard, an evaluation tool for BRT corridors based on international best practices. The Standard functions as a planning tool, a scoring system, and a means of achieving a common definition of BRT. The data collected from this survey is compiled by ITDP and verified by the BRT Standard Technical Committee. More information about ITDP, the BRT Standard Technical Committee, and the Institutional Endorsers of the BRT Standard can be found at https://www.itdp.org. The following questions will ask about both design and operational elements of the given BRT system corridor. The survey is sorted so that the first section (Questions 1-24) can be answered from information available on the internet or that can be extracted from Google Earth or related programs. The second section (Questions 25 to 55) must be collected in the field, with camera and video access.
